This year, 2011, marks our 33rd season in operation with the largest sailboat and powerboat charter fleet in one harbor in the U.S. In 2008 we added our yacht sales division, Superior Yacht Sales, and became the exclusive dealer for Jeanneau sailboats on Lake Superior and surrounding states. We also provide brokerage services and represent a selection of fresh water brokerage boats. In 2010 we added Island Packet Yachts to our product lines. In addition, we offer a unique opportunity to ‘Try Before You Buy’ and charter a late model Jeanneau or Island Packet Yacht.
Family owned and operated since 1979, Superior Charters provides our clientele outstanding charter boat service with a unique offering of wilderness cruising in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore on Lake Superior. Located on the south shore of Lake Superior in Bayfield, Wisconsin, the gateway to the 22 islands of the Apostle Islands, Superior Charters offers a sailing and boating charter experience unmatched anywhere.
Over 80% of our charterers are repeat customers and many of our charter boat owners come from the ranks of our charter customers. We instruct and certify over a hundred new charter skippers every year and welcome those who are looking for a care-free ‘captained’ charter as well.
